My Body Composition (After 4 Days of Creatine)

I have now been taking 5g of creatine daily for the past four days. This is my updated body composition as of today (compared to my last measurements from March 7th):

  • Weight: 70.40kg (increased 0.95kg)
  • Body fat: 14.6% (increased 0.2%)
  • Muscle mass: 57.09kg (increased 0.63kg)
  • Fat-free mass: 60.12kg (increased 0.67kg)
  • Skeletal muscle: 55.1% (decreased 0.2%)

This data pattern is exactly what I would expect to see after starting creatine supplementation. The nearly-1kg increase in weight, muscle mass, and fat-free mass are primarily due to:

  1. Creatine-induced water retention within muscle cells
  2. Increased glycogen storage
  3. Potentially enhanced muscle protein synthesis

The 0.2% increase in body fat percentage (14.6%) is likely not an actual increase in fat tissue, but rather a calculation adjustment by the measurement device based on the changes in other parameters.

The device may be interpreting some of the water retention as fat tissue.

Additionally to creatine, the only change I have been applying for the past few days is having a post-workout meal right after I finish my sessions.

The meal is the following (as per my updated meal plan):

  • 250g Fage 0% Greek Yogurt, 1 banana, 5g pumpkin seeds, 5g cacao
  • ~265-310 kcal, 25g P, 20g C, 1g F
